Cyborg Jeff (Martin) Impulse Tracker II – Pentium 120 – IT

Depuis l’arrivée de Michaël Schumacher chez Ferrari en 1996, j’étais devenu un vrai supporter, un vrai Tiffosi !! Et à l’approche du Grand Prix de Spa Francorchamps, un grand Meeting Marlboro Show Girl avait été mis en place au Hall des foires de Coronmeuse, avec des artistes tel que Snap et Global DeeJay, des danseuses et plein de Tshirt et casquettes…. Waow, quelle soirée passée là avec mon ami Vanoid !! Je m’étais alors dit (avant que l’on ne sorte un titre “Schumacher”), qu’un morceau à la DJ Sash autour du thème de Ferrari serait vraiment le pied dans ce genre de meeting… ce qui entraina ce petit essai !

Since Michael Schumacher joined Ferrari in 1996, i was a big fan of the red F1 team… Spa Grand Prix arrived and with the help of my friend Cédric Vanrutten i would be able to go to the Marlboro Show Girl Meeting taking place in Liège with artists as Snap or Global Deejay, with dancing girls, Thsirts and caps,…. What a party !!! So i thought it should be great if they are a Sash-like song around Ferrari theme for that meeting… before was released the song : Schumacher from DJ Visage.

Dommage, le fichier source .IT de ce morceau s’est perdu dans la bagarre, égaré sur un Backup plus que probablement, il ne me reste plus que le rendu MP3 présent dans l’album Summer Island. Ce morceau était une super version remix d’une idée de mon ami Valentin qui troquait alors son pseudo Tbob pour DJ Rodriguez… Il avait alors écrit une chanson pour Eglantine… Pour me faire pardonné d’avoir perdu (temporairement) ma version originale, je vous laisse quelques morceaux des souvenirs de Valentin.

Mais qu’il est beau Rodriguez ! Et oui, c’est celui que vous avez récemment vus dans le groupe S.S.S. avec leur clip “Viens au Soleil”, le plus beau tube de l’été.

Etant encore fort jeune dans ce style de musique, j’ai demandé à Cyborg Jeff, mon meilleur pot et presque père de Rodriguez de semer un peu de graines de notes pour l’inspiration… Tout en espérant qu’il en aie le temps car j’ai le plaisir -avec la larme au coeur- de vous annoncer que CJ va se présenter à l’institut des arts de diffusion cette année… et il va nous manquer à tous…

Il restera le plus robotic de tous les Jeffs et une personne qui m’est chère….

Il existera deux versions, celle-ci et une autre avec des essaies de paroles chantées, finalisée début septembre 1997. Je me souviens qu’à l’époque j’étais assez fier de proposer un morceau de Dance incluant un solo en fin de morceau !

Unfortunatly, i didn’t find back the .IT source file, probably on an old CD backup, and i just have the MP3 rendering of this song for the Summer Island CD Album. This track was a remix starting from a song of my friend Valentin Boigelot signed here as DJ Rodriguez. He had written the song for his new girlfriend Eglantine…  There were two versions of my remix, one with vocals… I remember i was realy happy to have added a solo part in this Dance track !

Rêvons toujours ! Le projet Crazy Brix commençait à ressembler vraiment à quelque chose… On pouvait y jouer, il plantait certes encore un peu… et surtout mon frangin Pype avait pu faire tourner les quelques modules que j’avais composé pour celui-ci… Je m’imaginais alors proposer une intro dans un style Dance Music avec des sons de Commodore 64, à la sauce 2 Unlimited, mis image dessin animé… Bref quelques chose de bluffant pour un petit Casse Brique….

Hit the bricks, voyait donc assez vite le jour… Mélangeant une fois de plus les tribulation de Jack Boost au commande d’un vaisseau lanceur de balles

Just dream… the Crazy Brix project began to be kwel… We could play it, it’s still often crashed, but my brother Pype have succeed to add my soundtrack modules in the game… So i was imagined we could have an animated intro with a Dance Track in the mood of 2 Unlimited but including oldschool C64 sounds…. Something realy ambitious for Breakout like game.

Hit the bricks was born… counting once again the adventures of Jack Boost in a new kind of spaceship !

Il y a plusieurs mois, j’avais imaginé créer un genre de Boys Band du nom de Tutti Frutti, dont le projet, présent sur l’album Divagation n’avait pas vraiment été plus en avant. Entre temps, un autre projet de Boys Band avait lui fait un peu de chemin, S.S.S. Et pourtant, alors que je terminais la réalisation en studio de Viens au Soleil, je passais la journée avec mon ami Teddy Bear, et une idée nous traversa l’esprit,… et pourquoi un Boys Band de vieux… avec des Papis qui chantent !!! Rapidement je ressortais mon projet Tutti Frutti, et avec l’excellent imitation de Titi, il nous faisait un parfait P’tit vieux qui jàse wallon…. et propose à Jaennine d’aller chercher un nouveau matelas au Paradis du Matelas !!!!

Aaah le paradis du matelas !!! Une institution chez nous, les publicités radio en était des perles…. et j’imaginais déjà un projet un poil plus ambitieux avec ce nouveau concept !! En allant démarcher Radio Ciel pour y diffuser mon futur hit ! Le titre finira modestement sur l’album Summe Island fin de l’été.

There were some months, i had imagined creating a Boys Band: Tutti Frutti, remember the  project, present on the album Divagation was finally left. Later, i started another similar project called : S.S.S. And during i was recording the song Viens au Soleil, my friend Teddy Bear came at home and we had an idea ! Why not imagine a Old Boys Band !!!! Quickly i get ou the old Tutti Frutti track and Titi brighlt imitate old Papies speaking and singing….

Alala, l’amour, les filles… quand j’y repense cela me fait tout de même assez sourir maintenant ! A l’époque, j’étais hyper méga remonté contre François Barré, qui avait mis le grappin sur ma petite copine Delphine… Vous imaginez un peu, l’affaire, un truc à la Hélène et les garçons… Moi je n’avais pas trop le choix, j’étais le régisseur lumière de la troupe de l’îlot, et lui, l’acteur vedette : Robinson Crusoë, de l’un de mes pièces de théâtre préférée de la troupe…

Alors, voilà, le mystère est levé sur le petit mot que je mettais alors : “Oh yes this song was written for Robinson, you don’t know him, me YES !”

Ceci dit, on apréciera où non la qualité sonore de mon chant, réalisé avec les moyens techniques du bord… J’aime assez bien le résultat. L’air principale est inspirée de Message in a Bottle du groupe The Police, que j’apprenais alors dans le groupe Virtual Music, et j’avais en projet d’inclure ce nouveau morceau au projet S.S.S. alors en studio chez Quéne Arèdje avec la famille Rombauts, avec au final la réalisation d’un clip vidéo.

Petit coucou donc à Tbob (Valentin Boigelot), Pype, Juju (Julien Libin), Dada (Julie D’allarche), Puce (Simon Boigelot), Fifin (Wivine Rombauts), Doudou (Delphine Jacqmard), Mme Rodriguez (Eglantine Nicolas) et Clair.

Love, girls… Now i had a little smile when think to that. At that time, i was hardly angry about François Barré who just catched my girlfriend  Delphine… So you just imagine something like a Berverly Hills episode ! I didn’t had the choice, i was working with light & sounds at  La Troupe de l’îlot,  and he was the main actor : Robinson Crusoë, from probably the best show of the Troupe…

Now the mystery was over : “Oh yes this song was written for Robinson, you don’t know him, me YES !”

So, may be you don’t like the audio quality of my singing lyrics, homemade, but i like it. The principal melody was inspirated from Message in a Bottle, that i’m learning with my Popband Virtual Music, and i would like to include it on my project S.S.S. that was just on studio with Quéne Arèdje and the Rombauts familly.

Ah, mon rêve d’être DJ, de faire mes petits Megamix à la sauce Dance Computer et The Unity Mixers… Même si à la radio, le style commençait à disparaître au profit de longue compilation CD enchainée,… je restais très branché sur le concept, présentant mon 10° projet Dance Mix incluant une série de titres dont j’avais dernièrement déniché les CDs pour pas trop cher :

I was dreaming i’ll be a DJ, making Megamix as the Dance Computer and The Unity Mixers… And as if that kind of megamix was no more broadcast on radio, letting the place to the long mixed CD compilation, i’ll finished the 10th Dance Mix including some tracks i’ve bought as : The Soultans, Tinmann, Tekno Too, Jam & Spoon, Three’n One, Gala and Sash!

Influence, Influence de quoi ??? Aucune idée, tout ce que je sais c’est que ce titre a été composé autour des restriction du Player S3M PPP Team, à savoir limité en 6 pistes… je devais surement lui réserver un sort vidéoludique…

But influenced by what ??? I don’t know… but you could see this track was restricted around the S3M PPP Team ASM routine, so limited to 6 tracks… so i probably had intention to use it in a game…

Non, non, rien n’avoir avec le protocole Internet, je n’en connaissais rien à l’époque… disons que lorsque l’on ne sait pas quoi donner comme nom à son fichier… on tape un peu n’importe quoi… bref, ce essai techno servira de mémoire de base un titre du nom “Scuderia Ferrari”

Well, no links with the Internet Protocole… as at that time, i don’t know about it,… it was just key type to quick save an techno essai… that would be re-used for the song Scuderia Ferrari…

Parmi les drôles de CD que je trouvais pas très cher, j’avais ramené un CD techno néérlandais de 1993 : Turn up the Fabletjeskrant – Naar Fabeltjesland. Le morceau en soit était loin d’être extraordinaire, mais je le trouvais marrant à tenter de sampler et reprogrammer au format Sound Tracking… Et puis les voix et le sample utilisé me disait vraiment quelque chose… Maintenant que je revois Monsieur le hibou en carton… je me souviens bien avoir regardé cette émission à la TV étant petit… peut-être même en néerlandais d’ailleurs !!

Among the strange CD i found for few money, there was this dutch techno CD from 1993 : Turn up the Fabletjeskrand – Naar Fabeltjesland. The song was not realy intersting, but i found it was fun to samples instruments and vocals and try to program it on Sound Tracker format… And those voice remember me something !!! Now i see back Mister the Owl, i remember i watch this on TV when i’m young… maybe in Dutch !

Au hasard d’une découverte d’un chouette music-disc dans l’un de nos PC Fun, j’avais trouvé cette marche plutôt réussie : The Elephant Stomp, composée par Silke (Andreas Reutenberg)… Et il est plus que certain que cette découverte m’a poussé à la réalisation moi aussi d’une petite marche, certes moins poétique…

I’ve discovered a kwel music-disc on a PC Fun CD-Rom, including the march song : The Elephant Stomp, composed by Silke. It was pretty sure this song should have influenced me to also write this march song !
