Ma compilation La Rocca – ballroom tunes 4 offerte par Caro et Laetitia
J’avais donc entamé au début de l’année 1996 une série de module au tour des instruments de mon Yamaha PSR 210. Celui-ci en est au fond bien éloigné, hormis l’utilisation de son Piano, on y retrouve également pas mal de samples tirés du CD La Rocca 2 et même du morceau techno de Roterdam Termination Source – Poing, le tout dans un morceau mi Samba, mi Techno.
Petite dédicace à Caro (Caroline Lepaily), Tchet, Ludo (Ludovic Remacle), Parmy (Laurent Mazzapicchi), Raf (Raphaël Lazzari), Pascal Deiting, Pierrick Hansen, Naguy (Christophe Wagner), V-Drums (Vivien Vanoirbeek).
I had started in the start of 1996 some soundtrack using instruments from my Yamaha PSR 210. This one finaly not so close to that project as i just used the piano with some sounds from the La Rocca 2 CDs and also the “boing” sounds of the techno song : Roterdam Termination Source – Poing in a mix of Samba and techno music.

Ah, j’avais une bonne base de nouveaux CDs dans laquelle puisée pour me créer de nouveau son. Ce morceau techno hardcore avait été réalisé sur base de samples tirés de la compilation La Rocca 2 (de la discothèque belge éponyme) offerte pour mon anniversaire par Caroline Lepaily, Laetitia Morone et Tchet.
So i’ll had a lot new CDs that i could use for my new songs. This technotraxx was realised with sounds sampled from the compilation La Rocca n°2, birthday gift from Caro, Laetitia and Tchet.

Morceau Techno sans grand intérêt, il faut l’admettre, juste de quoi exploiter une série de nouveau samples tirés de l’album de Ace of Base que Caroline Decknut m’avait pretté.

J’étais visiblement dans une petite phase “rock” à cette époque, après un hommage à Chuck Berry, et travaillant toujours avec des sons samplés de la guitare de mon frangin Pype et de l’album des Weezer — d’où le nom de fichier WEZER.MOD –, je me lançais dans un arrangement de la musique du jeu Blues Brothers.
Du Jeu ? me direz-vous … Ben oui, à l’époque pour moi les Blues Brothers ne sont rien d’autre que les héros d’un excellent jeu de plate-forme sur PC MS-DOS, développé par Titus (Les aventures de Moktar, Préhistorik,…), inspiré de Laurel et Hardy… Je n’avais aucune idées que le jeu était simplement inspiré d’un film,… lui même inspiré de musiciens des années 70…
It seems that i was in rock period at that moment. After an hommage to Chuck Berry, i began to work, still with sounds sampled from my brother’s guitare and from the Weezer album, an arrangement from the musiqu of the Blues Brothers video game.
Video Game ?? Yes, for me at that time, I only knew the Blues Brothers as heros of the action game developped by Titus on MS-DOS. Just inspirated from Laurel & Hardy. I don’t know they are a movie and also real musician from the seventies.

Parmis les premiers CDs que mes parents m’ont offert au début des années 90 se trouvait un album de Chuck Berry. Mais je dois bien admettre que je préfèrais bien plus mes CDs de techno que ceux de Rock’n Roll. Ceci dit, le morceau “Johnny be Good” a tout de même beaucoup d’importance pour moi, puisque, ce fut l’un des deux morceaux que notre petit groupe de musique d’ados interpreta lors de son premier concert, à l’époque sous le nom des Acides Aminés.
A l’origine, seul mon frère Pype et mon ami et batteur Vivien Vanoirbeek faisait partie du groupe, et nous devions interpreter Imagine de John Lennon. Puis, un autre élève de notre école, Geoffrey Ducastel se sépara de groupe… et nous nous regroupions, ajoutant Johnny be Good à notre performance…
Voilà, donc, même si ce titre n’est à de relation avec le titre de Chuck Berry que la petite intro, il s’agit quand même d’un hommage à ces souvenirs.

In the early nineties, my parents gift me some of my first CDs as Bill Haley & the Comets or Chuck Berry. I should admit that i prefered listening to my techno Cd’s than Rock’n roll one. Anyway, the song “Johnny be Goood” has importance to me cause it was one of the first songs i performed on stage with my teenage rock band, Les Acides Aminée. So, as if that song has just a relation with that Chuck Berry’s song with his title and the introduction, it’s also an hommage to that souvenirs.

Aaah, un tout tout grand merci à Sébastien Valenti pour son cadeau d’anniversaire, l’album “Best of” de 2 Unlimited. Je me souviens que ce jour là j’étais vraiment touché et étonné de ce cadeau. C’est que l’on était que des ados, et acheté un album CD, cela avait du être un sacré sacrifice. A l’époque les Sash! et autres Robert Miles n’avaient pas encore fait leur apparition et mon groupe favoris, dont j’étais complètement fan, c’était le groupe hollandais 2 Unlimited, bien connu pour des tubes tel que No Limit, Maximum Overdrive, Get Ready for This et compagnie.
Ma chambre avait depuis un bon moment laissée place au poster de Ray & Anita, en lieu et place de ceux des Benny B et Bénédicte d’Hélène & les Garçons…
J’ai découvert le groupe en 1991 avec le morceau Get Ready for This. J’en étais fou, mais impossible de le trouver en vinyl. Je m’étais donc suffit d’une version de quelques secondes dans un mégamix Turn up the Bass et dans le Dance Computer 7. Je lorgnais d’ailleurs sur une des compils T.U.T.B. où il se trouvait… la n°14 que j’ai achetée des années plus tard.
Bref, j’avais ici commencé à récupérer quelques sons de ce CD, dont l’instrument principal de Get ready for this, et plus tard je me lancerais dans un megamix de 2 Unlimited !
Encore un tout grand merci à toi Seb. Je sais qu’à l’époque, bien que l’on soit de grand copain, on se cherchait aussi des poux pour les filles, et que je te chariais un peu trop parfois. Ce geste m’avait montré toute l’amitité que tu me portais malgré ta carapace de bougon.
Aaaaah, a great, great thanks to my friend Sebastien Valenti for his present for my brithday. The Best of album of 2 Unlimited. I remember that i was realy astonnished by that, cause at that time, we were just teenagers and buying a CD needed lot of sacrifices. A that time, there’s no Sash! nor Robert Miles, and my favorite Dance band was the dutch formation 2 Unlimited well known for the hits : No Limit, Maximum Overdrive or Get Ready for This.
My bedroom was full of posters of Ray and Anita, and i had back off the Benny B’s one.
I discovered that band in 1991 witht the song Get ready for this. I was crazy of that sounds and i can’t find it on vinyl. I just have found 2 megamix using it as the Dance Computer 7.
So, i began to samples sounds from that album especially the sound of Get ready for this.

Allé hop, un petit module pour la Saint Valentin,… enfin, le jour de la St Valentin ! Un morceau de techno un peu rétro mais pourtant bien pensé autour de samples tirés de 2 Unlimited et The Ulimate Seduction.
So, for the Saint Valentin, i not have written a love song, but once again a techno song using sounds i sampled from 2 Unlimited and The Ultimate Seduction.

Les premiers morceaux sous le nom de Cyborg Jeff , c’était dès mars 1996 !
Et voilà donc petit à petit les morceaux commencent à s’estampiller “Cyborg Jeff”, avec toujours une petite mention “Mc Piet” pour la transition. Ce morceau n’a lui rien de bien original, dans le style Rave Techno Amiga.
Une petite dédicace à : Laurent ‘Parmy’ Mazzapicchi, Vivien ‘V-Drums’ Vanoirbeek, Cédric ‘Vanoïd’ Vanrutten, Xavier ‘Xalope’ Vanhoorik, Pierrick ‘DJ 3.14’ Hansen, Pascal ‘Vegeta’ Deiting, Romuald ‘Valyum’ Dispa, Caroline Lepaily, Christophe ‘DJ Dub’ Deblire, Salvatore Canicatti, Laurent ‘MegG’ Rosati.
So time after time, new songs was signed “Cyborg Jeff” with a small mention to Mc Piet for the transition. That songs was not so original just using sounds from Rave Techno Amiga tracks.

4° projet basé sur mon synthé Yamaha PSR 210, et utilisant les sons les plus “techno” de ce synthétiseur familliale. J’avais également utilisé les voix digitalisée de celui-ci (le One, Two), pour un résultat plutôt sympathique au final !
Petit anecdote, je disais alors : Un morceau réalisé une fois de plus par votre tracker préféré : Mc Piet qui vous propose déjà plus de 50 modules…. Et on en est déjà à 150 enfait !
4rd project with my Yamaha PSR 210 using the most techno sounds from that familial synthesizer. I had also used the digitalised sounds from it (the One, Two,..) for an intersting result.
That was fun to spot that, at that moment, i was proud to announce that i have more than 50 modules realised… in fact, it was the 155rd one.

Nouveau morceau réalisé par le meilleur Droïd de la galaxy : (YB0RG Jeff, piloté par votre soundtracker préféré : Mc Piet. J’ai du composer ce morceau de House music pour pouvoir atterir sur la 5ème planète de ce système solaire : Enigma-J. Notre Droïd Cyborg Jeff a donc trouvé une solution pour sauver la planète Terre,… La House !
… Le plus drôle est que tous ces morceaux que j’assimile à de la House Music n’ont pas grand chose à voir avec ce genre de musique… Enigna-J est un hommage au tableau le plus amusant de la trilogie du jeu Epic Pinball développé par Epic Mega Games.
A new track realised by the best Droïd of the Galaxy : Cyborg Jeff driven by your favorite sound tracker : Mc Piet. I had to write this House music to be able to land on the 5th planet of that solar system called : Enigma-J. Our Droïd Cyborg Jeff had solve the problem to save planet Eart : House Music.
… What’s fun, is all that song i linked to House Music were not House music… Enigma-J is an hommage to the funniest table of Epic Pinball Trilogy (from Epic Mega Games) : Enigma.
