Ma chambre, mon homestudio – Été 1997
Rappelez-vous, Rock Candy fut un des premiers modules que j’ai réalisé… en 1995 ! Il s’agissait d’une ré-écriture au format Fast Tracker, d’une partition de guitare de mon frangin Pype… Dans ma petite folie de ré-arrangement à la sauce “Synthé Roland Midi” de plusieurs titres (3D.mod, Liquid – Ambient Zing, Go for it, BLS – Mr Keel Theme), j’avais ensuite embrayé sur ce petit titre, afin de lui donner une couleur… plus rock !!
Quoi il en soit, cette idée était vraiment stupide, puisque tuant toute la magie du format SoundTracker… Mais à l’époque j’étais tellement exciter à l’idée de pouvoir disposer d’un super synthé Midi Roland, que je ne m’en rendais pas compte !
Remember, Rock Candy was one of my first module i realised in 1995. It was a rewritten on Fast Tracker format from a guitar partition of my bros Pype. During this 97 summer i was so excited to soon have my brand new Roland syntesizer that i began to rewrite lot of songs with the sample set i’ve recorded from the Roland E38 of Laurent Mazzapicchi… working on 3D.mod, Liquid – Ambient Zing, Go for It, BLS – Mr Keel Theme and Rock Candy…
It was sure a stupid idea that left all the magical potion of the Sound Tracker sounds… but at that time i was so excited to this new Midi quality that i can’t understand it !

Le boysband S.S.S. est de retour !! CJ, Pype et Tbob enchaine donc avec un nouveau titre qui va vous faire bouger tout l’été !! Exit le Roland Laurent… je me suis payé un tout nouveau Roland E68 avec lecteur de disquette incorporé après avoir travaillé à l’AD Delhaise Bergerie pendant les vacances !
Bref, je me souviens d’un morceau à l’eau de rose où la petite fille chantait… où les Beatles chantaient… et bien c’est un peu le concept, mais en hommage au groupe de ma jeunesse : 2 Unlimited et leur chanson No Limit sortit en 1993.
Le projet n’ira pourtant pas plus loin devant la difficulté à insérer tant de parole dans un fichier .IT ! Il ne finira pas non plus sur l’album Summer Island, car à l’époque, j’espérais alors réitérer le passage au studio Quéne Arèdje, comme j’allais le faire avec le premier titre de S.S.S. – Viens au Soleil.

The S.S.S. boysband is back ! CJ, Pype and Tbob will soon present another summer hit that let you move all the night ! No more Laurent’s Roland keyboard, i’ve bought my new Roland E68 with a floppy drivers after working a lot in the local marketshop during the holidays.
Well, i remember a french song where The Beatles singing… and it was the concept of this song, also an hommage to my favorite dance formation : 2 Unlimited.
The project won’t go further, due to the limit of the .IT file format and the ambitious lyrics…

Track 16, Planer n’est pas jouer (S.E.)
Parfois quand même… Beaucoup d’anciens s’accordent à dire que l’une des forces du format Sound Tracking, était de pouvoir s’écarter du manque d’originalité des sonorités des synthétiseurs Midi ! Seulement voilà, moi j’étais tout fou des sonorité de mon tout nouveau Roland E68, et j’allais donc de me lancer dans un drôle de petit jeu qui consisterait à retravailler les samples de quelques titres SoundTracker avec de nouveaux samples échantillonnés de mon Synthé.
Première “victime”, mon titre Planer n’est pas jouer, composé début 97 à l’origine avec une jolie série de sample de Romeo Knight… Le résultat n’est pas mauvais, mais manque tout de même de charisme !
Lot of oldschool musician were agree to say that one of the strong of the SoundTracking format is the possibility to have so specific instrument that not sound as a MIDI synthesizer… But, at that time, i was crazy of my brand new Roland E68, and i began a new game, re-arranging some SoundTracker musics with my brand new samples set i’ve made of this keyboard.
The first song i choose, was Planer n’est pas jouer that i’ve written in the early 1997, originaly around the piano of Romeo Knight.

Composé il y avait plusieurs moi de cela sur le synthé Roland de Laurent, j’avais ré-écris ce slow composé pour Delphine au format tracker avec quelques samples de Jogeir Liljedahl… Le morceau n’était pas entièrement terminé, mais c’est tout ce qu’il reste, puisque le fichier .MID d’origine reste à ce jour corrompu !
Written few month ago with the Roland’s syntesizer of my friend Laurent Mazzapicchi, i’ve rewritten the slow i’ve composed for Delphine in tracker format, using some samples from Jogeir Liljedahl… As if this track was not finished, it was the last things of this project, as the Midi files are now corrumpted !

Je poursuivais donc mon petit parcours temporaire sous le nom de DJ Inno, avec un morceau techno aux sonorités originale utilisant des vieux sons de Marimba et Accordéon tiré à l’époque de mon synthé Yamaha et ma vieil carte son 8bits,… alors que j’envisageais justement l’achat d’un nouveau synthé, une fois la paie de mon Job d’étudiant chez Delhaise reçue ! Roland E68 ou XP10 ??
I followed tracking techno songs under the name of DJ Inno with this new songs using samples of marimba and accordeon from my old Yamaha synthesizer… And i also planned to buy a brand new one keyboard !! The Roland E68 or XP10 !

La mode Boys Band avait encore la côte en ce début d’année 1997, et j’avais depuis un moment l’envie d’en imaginer un fictif… Je mettais donc en place le projet “2-3 Frutti” avec une pointe de 2be3 dans le nom… Le morceau était essentiellement composé sur base des instruments du synthé Roland de Laurent Mazzapicchi… Le titre “Dance Classics” était là de manière temporaire, le temps que mon frère et moi lui trouvions un texte digne du sujet…
Le projet n’ira pas plus loin, même si un peu plus tard Les 2-3 Frutti deviendront Ze Papies ventant les mérites du Paradis du Matelas… Par contre le projet S.S.S. lui aura beaucoup plus de répondant !
They still loved Boys Band in early 1997, so i decided to create a fictive one called : 2-3 Frutti (do you recognize the similitudes with 2be3 ?) The song will be written using a lot of instrument from Laurent Mazzapicchi’s Roland. The song called : Dance Classics, waiting to receive lyrics i’ll write with my brother Pype.
That 2-3 Frutti project will not start… but few month later, i’ll re-use the song for a new formation with Mister Teddy D. called : Ze Papies singing for “Le Paradis du Matelas”… Later i also create another Boys Band : S.S.S. !
