Ce jour là, j’avais pas mal de profs absents ! J’avais donc lâchement abandonné mon ami Ced à l’étude pour rentrer à la maison, composer ce petit slow pour Delphine, une fois de plus autour des instruments utilisé dans “Plus belle que ces accords” issus de la B.O. du jeu Innerworlds.
That day, i had a lot of teachers not present at school, so i left my friends Cédric Vanrutten there and went back home to write this little song to Delphine, still on the same base as “Plus belle que ces accords” started from the OST of the game Innerworlds.

Me voilà à fond Dance Music, déchainé par les résultats pouvant sortir de mon petit Pentium ! Avec une fois de plus une bonne dose d’influence de Sash! – Encore une fois, je finalisais donc un nouveau titre autour de mes histoires de cœur… dans un anglais plus que catastrophique !
Merci à Pierrick Hansen et Parmy pour quelques bons insturments et coucou à Tbob et Doudou.

I was 100% euro-dance music connected, motivated by the result of the last productions i’ve made with my small Pentium 120. So once again, influenced by Sash!, i wrote a new song couting my teenage love story in a pooring english.

Ce qui deviendra l’album Summer Island… mais avant l’enregistrement studio de Viens au soleil.
Il faut bien admettre que la banque de samples apporté par Pierrick fin mars s’était avérée être très inspiratante ! Je m’étais donc lancé courant avril dans une symphonie électronique, mais rien à faire,… quelque chose sonnait faux… C’est pour finir mon frangin Pype qui se jour là allait trouver le petit changement à apporter à ELEDRES.IT pour le rendre parfait !
Cette version aurait clairement mérité sa place sur mon prochain album, Summer Island, mais là aussi, lors de la sélection avec Valentin, Electronic Dream Symphony passera à la trappe… En 98, il se retrouvera pourtant sur l’album Esperenza dans une version remaniée…

I should admit that the sample’s bank given by my friend Pierrick Hansen in march was main inspiration source ! So in april, I began to work on an electronic symphony, but… there was something that sounded wrong ! That day, my brother Pype had a look on it and found what’s the problem !
That version should realy included on the album Summer Island, but as i’ve allready explained, we should Tbob and I make a selection of tracks… Anyway, a new version would be present in my album Esperenza in early 1998.

Et donc comme convenu, Nelson Bissot, le cousin de Delphine passait ce mercredi à la maison pour découvrir Impulse Tracker et enregistrer un petit morceau dans mon mini home studio. Ooh, bien mini ce Home Studio, mon brave Pentium 120 et une petite table de mixage très ancienne plus utile pour séléctionner la source vers ma chaine-hifi, que pour enregistrer le son du micro…
Pourtant le résultat est plutôt sympa, un titre Dance qui me fait un peu penser à du Dr Alban ! … le tout composé et écrit en moins d’une heure !! Il aurait d’ailleurs mérité se retrouver sur l’album Summer Island…

So well, mister Nelson Bissot, the Delphine’s cousin came that wednesday in my mini home studio, discovering Impulse Tracker… and finally recorded this 1 hour Euro-Dance song that let me thing to Dr Alban… That song was kwel and would be on the album Summer Island, anyway in the moment i choosed the song with Tbob, i should leave some intersting songs…

Attendant comme d’habitude un courrier de Delphine, je continuais mes productions. Je devais en principe revoir son cousin Nelson qui allait venir enregistrer un titre à la maison dans mon mini home studio…
Ce nouveau morceau reste dans un style Trance/Dream mélangeant plein d’autres influences et idées de ces derniers mois… A l’origine le titre s’apellait juste “Everything is good in a better world”, à savoir Tout va pour le mieux dans le meilleur des mondes, une expression de Candide si je ne m’abuse que j’avais apprise au cours de Français…
Grand bonjour à Pierrick Hansen, Tbob (Valentin Boigelot), Delphine Jacqmard, Puce (Simon Boigelot), Vilvo (Renaud Detry), Pype, JedD (Jean-Denis Magis), V-Drums (Vivien Vanoirbeek), Valium (Romuald Dispa), Cédric Vanrutten, Pascal Deiting et tous les autres…
Waitin’ a letter from Delphine, i still working on new productions. I should met back her cousin Nelson to record a song on my mini home studio..
That new track was still in Trance/Dream style, mixed with a lot of other influences from those months… First the song called “Everything is good in a better world” that comes, if i’m correctly remember from a citation of Candide, that’ve i’ve learned in my french lessons.

Fier du résultat obtenu avec mon nouveau futur tube “You’re my sun”, je m’imaginais déjà m’attaquer au TOP 50, et pour ce faire, il me fallait bien sur un Track 2 pour l’hypothétique single CD ! Je me lançais donc de suite dans une version remix, travaillant autour des excellents samples de Pierrick Hansen, déjà exploités dans “Space is my reality” et “Qu’est-ce que je fous ici“.
Au final, cette nouvelle version me plaira bien plus que la première, aux instruments un peu trop “Amiga”… C’est donc finalement cette version Discoteca Mix qui se retrouvera sur l’album Summer Island fin de l’été 97, mais se retrouvera au par avant sur un Mini Album de 6 titres pour Delphine et Valentin.
La mélodie de You’re my Sun a ce petit quelque chose qui la rend inoubliable… et en de nombreuses occasions (1999, 2003,…) je la retravaillerais un peu dans des versions plus modernes… Et qui sais peut-être même avait-elle inspiré le DJ français Julien Ranouil, mieux connu sous le nom de Pakito !! Si le premier tube du groupe reprend clairement une mélodie des années 80, le 2° titre : Movin’ on Stereo (2007) fait résonner une mélodie vraiment très très similaire à la mienne (1’10” dans le clip)… coïncidences ?
Proud of the result of my last song “You’re my sun”, i was dreaming to be dropped in the TOP 50, but I’ll need a Track 2 for my Single CD. So I directly worked on a remix, using excellent samples from my friend Pierrick Hansen, allready used in Space is my Reality and Qu’est-ce que je fous ici ?
Finally, this new version sounds better than the first one who was just used some old Amiga samples, so at the end this Discoteca Mix version was chosen on my album Summer Island late in augustus 1997, as if it was also present in a Mini Album of 6 tracks only distributed to Tbob and Delphine Jacqmard.
The melody of You’re my sun have something that let it unforgetable ! then later in 1999 and 2003 i’ll work on remixes… And who knows, it may be have inspirated the french DJ Julien Ranouil more known as Pakito ! His first hit was clearly used a well known melody from the eighties, but his second hits : Movin’ on stereo (2007) let heard a melody really close to mine !! (1’10” in the movieclip).

Waouw, voilà une jolie performance réalisée avec mon modeste Pentium 120 tout de même… en ce mois de mai 97, je poussais Cyborg Jeff et mon concept d’Euro-Dance d’un cran en avant, avec ce premier titre Dance de qualité plus qu’honorable pour du Sound Tracking, tenant sur un peu plus de 2mo, je parvenais à ajouter refrain et couplets à une mélodie composée quelques mois plus tôt… Je me permettais même quelques 2° voix dans le couplet… Bref, un style que j’allais approfondir au fils de mois, et qui serait au centre du prochain album !
Coté écriture, c’était de l’anglais tout gentil, mais bien suffisant pour le genre…

Waouw, here is a great perfomance realised with my modest Pentium 120mhz isn’t it ? I push up my Cyborg Jeff’s Euro-Dance concept one step forward with this good quality Dance Track for a Sound Tracker creation. With 2mo i was able to add some vocals on that melody i’ve written some month ago, and also added second voices… Well first song from a long list of Cyborg Jeff’s dance track, especially for the forcoming album…
