“Planer n’est pas jouer“, composé début 1997, est un de ces morceaux que mon frangin aimait particulièrement et dont j’appréciais le thème musicale, inspiré d’un titre de Romeo Knight.
Avec mon projet d’album format Chiptunes, Il se prêtait donc à merveille pour une conversion, laissant dès lors de côté son piano pour des Bliip Bliip mélodique.
“Planer n’est pas jouer”, composed in early 1997, is one of those songs that my brother particularly liked and whose musical theme, inspired by a song by Romeo Knight, I also enjoyed.
With my Chiptunes album project, it was perfect for conversion, leaving aside its piano for melodic Bliip Bliip sounds.

Parfois quand même… Beaucoup d’anciens s’accordent à dire que l’une des forces du format Sound Tracking, était de pouvoir s’écarter du manque d’originalité des sonorités des synthétiseurs Midi ! Seulement voilà, moi j’étais tout fou des sonorité de mon tout nouveau Roland E68, et j’allais donc de me lancer dans un drôle de petit jeu qui consisterait à retravailler les samples de quelques titres SoundTracker avec de nouveaux samples échantillonnés de mon Synthé.
Première “victime”, mon titre Planer n’est pas jouer, composé début 97 à l’origine avec une jolie série de sample de Romeo Knight… Le résultat n’est pas mauvais, mais manque tout de même de charisme !
Lot of oldschool musician were agree to say that one of the strong of the SoundTracking format is the possibility to have so specific instrument that not sound as a MIDI synthesizer… But, at that time, i was crazy of my brand new Roland E68, and i began a new game, re-arranging some SoundTracker musics with my brand new samples set i’ve made of this keyboard.
The first song i choose, was Planer n’est pas jouer that i’ve written in the early 1997, originaly around the piano of Romeo Knight.

A tout ceux qui adoraient mes petites mélodies de piano de l’année 1996, j’ai voulu écrire un nouveau titre, un poil trance, mais plein de magie virvoltante… Inspiré de la bande son de Innerworlds et utilisant les excellents samples de piano de Romeo Knight, le résutlat est vraiment planant. Dans mes notes d’ailleurs, j’annonce m’être très inspiré du titre : Boesendorfer de Romeo Knight, mais à l’écouter mon morceau s’en démarque suffisamment…
Planer n’est pas jouer sera d’ailleurs la pièce maîtresse d’un album K7 réalisé en 1997, avant d’être ré-éditer au format CD et sur Jamendo en 2007. Sur la pochette de cet album, on pouvait voir Lara Croft voler au dessus d’un échiquier !
For all the one who loved my piano’s melody from the year 1996, i would like to write a new song, with some trance aspect but with a lot of magical feeling… Inspirated from the sound track of the game Innerworld and using some excellent piano’s samples from Romeo Knight, the result are dreaming. I had mentioned that i was a lot inspirated from the Romeo Knight song, Boesendorfer, but after hearing it now, the both songs was enough different.
Planer n’est pas jouer was a master piece of the K7 Tape album realised in 1997 before being re-edited in a CD format and on Jamendo in 2007. On the original cover, you could see Lara Croft flying up a Chess play.
