La fin de l’année approche, et je m’active pour terminer mon projet d’album Chiptunes, depuis quelques semaines. Depuis le début de l’automne, ma vie est un peu différente et je passe beaucoup de temps avec Athena. Si les premiers mois je remonte encore dans ma chambre faire de la musique quand elle va à l’école, depuis quelques semaines, j’ai pris mes marques dans sur son ordinateur, dans un appartement chez son grand-père… d’où cette signature que l’on retrouve parfois : Midtown Studio. C’est là que se finalisent les derniers morceaux, la petite taille des musiques Chiptunes facilitant ce mode un peu nomade.
Bon alors, ce titre « Lanzarote Island » composé par mon ami TBob, cela fait bien 1 an et demie que je l’ai dans mon ordinateur. Sa version à lui est d’ailleurs même sur
mon album Together n i, Val le sait, j’adore son morceau… Il l’avait imaginé dans un style très MAF que nous aimions beaucoup à son retour de vacances à Lanzarote durant l’été 99.
Je me souviens qu’a l’époque il avait voulu faire un morceau genre
Gameboy mais il avait perdu… alors voila le remix pour mon futur SID album.
The end of the year is approaching, and I’ve been working hard for the past few weeks to finish my chiptune album project. Since early fall, my life has been a little different, and I’ve been spending a lot of time with Athena. While in the first few months I’d still go up to my room to make music when she was at school, for the past few weeks I’ve settled into using her computer at her grandfather’s apartment… which is where the signature you sometimes see comes from: Midtown Studio.
That’s where the final touches are put on the tracks—the compact size of chiptune music makes this somewhat nomadic approach easier.
So, this track, “Lanzarote Island,” composed by my friend TBob—I’ve had it on my computer for a good year and a half now. His version is actually even on
my album « Together n I »; Val knows this—I love his track… He’d come up with it in a very MAF style that we really liked when he got back from his vacation in Lanzarote during the summer of ’99.
I remember that back then he’d wanted to make a track in the style of a Game Boy, but he’d lost it… so here’s the remix for my upcoming SID album.
